Matt Glover, President, leads the management and corporate strategy of Glover’s construction projects, ranging from mass excavation and grading to heavy civil and landfill construction. He has been with the company for more than 40 years, since graduating from Chowan University and NC State University with a degree in Agronomy. In 2023, Matt assumed the role of President from his father, J.M., whom he continues to work alongside and in coordination with today. He is responsible for the oversight all of the daily operations and management decisions both administratively and technically as it relates to project. He is also particularly involved in the financial and legal realms of business, in addition to the technical matters and negotiations with project clients as a management representative.
One of Matt’s favorite projects has been developing a new general aviation area and taxiway extension connecting the runway to the general aviation area at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Aside from his personal interest in aviation, this project was rewarding for Matt, given the many challenges his team navigated without disrupting the airport’s use of the nearby runway or navigational systems.
Matt is a proud holder of a private pilot license, which he utilized for many years to take aerial photos of Glover Construction’s projects, and as a mode of transportation to get to project meetings and bid events. Additionally, in his free time, Matt enjoys bow hunting, fishing on Lake Gaston and attending NC State athletic events.
